I don't often use any in most conversations. But in the cases in which I have:
The two I use most are "😉👈🏻" for a certain joke I do with my friends. You know, the classic "I'm signaling to you that I'm not telling the truth by winking, but also making it blatantly obvious to all others by pointing to the wink." It's so much funnier to do it in person, but using "😉👈🏻" is the next best way of doing it, should conversations be via text.
I also sometimes do another (intended to be) funny thing where I post a laughing face followed by a crying face.
Otherwise I sometimes use a smiley face when talking to a crush.
I've also used the winky face when attempting to flirt (which I know I'm not very good at) so I just use it then in the hopes of creating humor.
And when I was in a relationship, I greeted my partner daily with a good morning text with a kissy face and heart.

I'll usually just call unless I know she's at work or something, in which case I keep it short and sweet. Grown men using emoticons is pathetically lame and needy in my opinion.

I don't really use emojis, other than the occasional 😊,😄,😆 or 😜. I've always been a bit of a linguistic nerd, so I prefer to see how creative I can get with me words. Admittedly it doesn't always work, apparently my vocabulary can be a bit intimidating.
