How do I ask a girl if she likes me and not be awkward about it?

This girl shows all kinds of signs she likes me. I even asked a friend about it and he thinks she likes me too. I want to ask her if she likes me but I’ve never done it before. What is the best way to do it and what to say. I don’t want to put her on the spot.

Don't ask her a closed question as that'll only obligate her to give you a closed answer without any elaboration. Also, being direct with a closed question is going to make it awkward for her especially if she's not into you and then she has to find a way to word it correctly without causing you any offence or rejection.

Hence, you should ask yourself the question first. Why do I like her? What do I want from her?

Once you know what you want, go for it. No closed question like "Do you like me?" No, forget that. What if she says "No." What are you going to do then?

Also, asking such a question to her implies you have no confidence in yourself so don't ask it.

You already know why and what you like and want her for. Therefore, if your reasons are A, B, C, 1, 2, 3 then tell her straight up if she'd like to do whatever those reasons maybe.

For example, if reason A was she's athletic and you know enjoys certain sports that you enjoy too, invite her out to such a sport event/game etc. That'll tell her you want to spend time doing such an activity and of all the people in the world to choose from... You chose her.

Do it. Have confidence. There's nothing to be afraid of. If she declines for whatever reasons you tell her then that doesn't mean the friendship has to end.

You can still do other things with her. You just might end up doing those things with someone else.

Don't ask her if she likes you. That is indeed putting her on the spot. Just tell her that you like HER. If she likes you too, it will all come out - and off you go. You have to be willing to make yourself vulnerable and take a risk. Women like that. You are risking rejection... but you like her enough to take that risk. That is a good thing.

But you don't have to go up and explicitly say "I like you" (although that could work), you might want to just go up to her and ask if she would like hang out. Grab lunch. Meet someplace for a drink. Whatever. That way its a chance for you to spend some time with her, maybe she likes you a bit but is not sure, its a lot less pressure to just ask her out on a date than it is to go up and profess your feelings. Taking it one step at a time can be good. Trust me, if you ask her out, she will know that you like her. If she says yes, she likes you too. Then let it develop from there.

Based on what you wrote, it sounds like you are going to get a positive response. If you don't, don't feel miserable and beat yourself up for it. Life is about taking risks, taking actions, for the things you care about and that you want. Just go for it! If you don't, you might miss a chance at something really cool.

Can I ask what signs she is giving you? My opinion would be don't ask her if she likes you, tell her you like her and go from there. I know most girls wouldn't admit their feelings first, though that might not be the personality of the girl you are interested in. It's not a crime to be honest, and if she doesn't reciprocate those feelings I promise it's not the end of the world. But if you keep waiting, you may never find out if she does.

She talks to all the time goes out of her way to do it and lot of times talks about random things because she wants to talk but doesn’t know what to say. She also laughs giggles and jokes with me all the time. She’s told other people she likes being around me. When she talks to me she looks at different. She tells me a lot about herself and asks a lot about me. She also wants to help me all the time. Also someone we know gave each of us gift cards to a restaurant and later she asked me to go with her sometime. I said when I have free time that sounds great. So I think she likes me

Do you like her? And if you do TELL HER. She'll tell you if she likes you too, if you just ask her without indicating your own feelings for her first she might deny liking you even if she does like you because she's afraid/ashamed you don't reciprocate her feelings.

Being so direct is seldom a good approach, bud. I know lot of people say "just tell her how you feel" but in general it comes across strong and demonstrates a lacking sense of control or planning on your part. And women don't admire men who cannot control themselves.

This is what you should do in order:
1. Approach her and say "H-Hey...". Make sure you execute the stutter strategically.
2. Continue with "uh... I was wondering if... um... you... uh... ya know?" while simultaneously scratching the back of your head and and looking at the ground. She will start to suspect that you know that she likes you and will show signs (via facial expressions) that she knows that you know that she likes you. If she isn't into you, she'd just think you're trying to be funny.
3. Once you'v confirmed which side she is on, begin your retreat in the following fashion:

Her - "OK"(If she is into you), or "OK?" If she is not into you.
