Would you date an MMA fighter?

Those who don't know MMA is mixed martial arts, just to be clear. I'm talking in any fashion be it if he did it as his career, or as a hobby. Guys switch out all my he's for she's in your case lol If no please give me reasons or beliefs why... I'm just curious what stigma's attach themselves to that label if any... aaaaaaand begin

Only because a guy is enough of a threat to my safety without training. It's sh*t like questions about how to help my boyfriend who tried to rape me fel better that warrants that reason. No gold star for stopping after she keeps screaming no sibnce you knewshe didn't want it because she told you way earlier & she resisted your efforts before the attempt rape .

As for stigmas others girls make think you're:

violent

on steroids

^ bodybuilders get this stigma too

conceited

^ bodybuilders get this stigma too

don't have time for a girlfriend because you fight a lot & train

a jerk

^ bodybuilders get this stigma too

too aggressive

have violence/aggression isssues you release by fighting

^ finding a healthy way to work out your issues is good but some people prefer partners without the issues in the first place

I'm more curious what people directly think or genuinely feel. I could brainstorm pages of speculative concepts. That's why I turned to this for what people actually see and interpret directly. Thanks for the input though

I am attracted to fit guys and, sure, a guy who knows his way around a fight is hot, but honestly, no I doubt I would. If it was his career, sorry but he would be too busy training etc. to spend the time with me I would want. I did have a relationship with someone who really enjoyed watching MMA and training as if he was in MMA. He was fit for sure but so self-centered and ridiculous. I prefer my fiance, who is very fit, has great muscles and could fight but doesn't train or pay any attention to MMA. Much hotter.

Absolutely. MMA fighters are so dedicated, and most aren't as self-absorbed as UFC and reality television make them out to be. I'm not saying the schedule (hours and hours of training) and emotions (esp. while cutting weight) are for everyone, but I'm okay playing second fiddle to a career. My boyfriend (who plans to marry me) wants to be world-class in BJJ, and he will work his ass off to make it. And I've got my own goals that I'm working towards; the important thing will be to support each other.

I'm a MMA , I'm quite disciplined and I'm naturally calm. Majority of Martial Artists are disciplined and respectful guys. If I liked a girl who was also a martial artist, then we would workout and train together =).

I usually started out with one disciplined, and I was thrilled just to train and study different techniques and become a better person, my father and master suggested the idea of picking up other styles and I do so. I believe in discipline and honor. I would never want to do UFC or make it a career, just a hobby mixed with an addiction really =)

Absolutely ! I practice Judo, but I'd love to try many others martial arts. I'd love to have a boyfriend to train with, to teach me stuff.. And, with my old boyfriends , I loved to fight with them.. I never wanted to quit so it was awesome and fun ^^ I'd love to watch him train too.. But if he made it a career it would be hard, because I know that he would be always with injuries and away a lot

I wouldn't date a guy that did that as his career. I don't want to always be worried about him...whether he may get injured or not...things of that nature.

I have to admit this is one really good reason. Probably the only thing that makes me question going pro, is the thought of my sisters and mom ever watching me if I get hurt. Thanks for your answer

I would DEFINITELY date a mixed martial artist if that is his career or hobby, it doesn't make a difference. I took a class in Tae Kwon Do and found it fascinating. I love men who are physically fit and he can protect me too, shoot I love it.

i don't really have any stereotypes about them, its just that if it was his career I'd feel like it'd take over his life (training, injuries, etc). I have a friend (sorta) who does it as a hobby & he's an awesome guy..very sweet, respectable, smart, etc...the kind of guy your parents would love for you to marry haha

I used to think that also till I fought a guy in the 135 division who was quite a bit of a circle as his shape lol If he was actually that weight well that's another argument :)
