Boredom, convenience. Like when you’re in front of others where are you? Work? The bar? A get together? You’re in a social setting, maybe having drinks or passing time, you’ve got someone of the opposite sex in front of you who doesn’t look like a broken foot, flirting happens. One on one is more personal, so unless the guy was intentional with their prior flirting and want to hookup/date/whatever then he’s not going to give you that same energy anymore. Because nothing was meant to come of the flirting.
