What does it mean if a girl never calls you by your name?

A girl and I know each other since a few months, she never calls me by my name, I asked her once about if she knew it and I heard her just silently say it as if she was nervous to say it out, I did call her by her name but now I don't do it either. I know that I like her which is why I stopped calling her by her name and instead got her a nickname which I will sometimes use.

Is it true that if someone likes you they don't say your name? I always call others by their name to get their attention if I have a normal relation with them.

I'm not sure you need to be overly hung up on the name thing if you have pet names for each other, which is a sign of endearment in and of itself. Sure, you can also call the person by their name if that's what you prefer -- it's nice to do at least occasionally, perhaps to mark a serious or meaningful point in a conversation -- but the pet name can also be used to mark special (sweet, cute or endearing) occasions in the conversation or day as well.
