What are compliments you like and what are some you don’t like, are generic, or gives you the ick?

Examples: You’re cute, you’re beautiful, you’re fine, I love being around you, etc.

"The ick" is based on whoever the speaker happens to be. If the compliment is coming from my man or from a person I trust and whose opinion I respect, then great. "Ick" would be a catcalling or something similar in terms of unwanted attention or commentary.

I like an appreciative smile and the more subtle complimentary gestures a person is able to offer. A kind word about how a person looks or an action they've taken is great for building one's self esteem -- everyone needs affirmation.

Some general compliments might be:
You look good today
Nice work
Congrats, well deserved
I love how you __ (whatever the action is)
I really know how to __ (whatever the action is)
You're the best

Within context, other things also pass, like...
You're funny/You make me laugh
You're wonderful/You make me feel __ (however the person is feeling)

There's more, but you get the general idea. A kind word or look goes a long way. Plus you never know when your little comment/gesture actually makes the other person's day.

I like being complimented on my intelligence, creativity, kindness or empathy. I don’t like being complimented on my looks unless it’s someone I know really well and I’m really comfortable with.
