It Depends, if it's just me, for sure. If I'm with my partner of course. If I'm with a close friend i. e. we share food, drinks, whatever, I will double dip but it's not gonna be every time. I'll try to just dip once but if I need to dip again I will. If I'm in any other situation then those three I've just described then no I wouldn't double dip.

The rule is: One chip, one dip. No exceptions.

Only if I'm eating by myself or with my boyfriend (who probably has all my mouth bacteria already). I try to be more polite with other people, though I often skip dipping completely so I don't hog the dip.

  Well dipping the other side is still a double dip as you are dipping the same vessel twice. Now you are putting your fingers into the dip as you likely held the chip/whatever where you are now dipping.
