What is your favorite berry fruit?

Blue berries. For all those out there with anxiety and depression, studies have linked benefits to these special blue berries.
They make you tongue blue too, which is an added bonus👅

Totally Huckleberries! I β€οΈ them.
I love Huckleberry ice-cream, I have Huckleberry syrup and pie filling right now at home.

Best part is, I can go hiking, riding or whatever in the Mountains in some area's and find them growing wild all over, nice lunch break. I have got them before in farmers markets in Missoula when I was living near there.
My second favorite is Marionberry, which I've only ever really found in Oregon where they seem to come from, some sort of hybrid that was man made from Blackberries.

I do like Blackberries though, in fact I planted one plant in my backyard that has grown to over 20 different plants and now its like a weed patch, can't get them to die... they just keep growing because every berry that falls has a chance of growing a new plant, and expanding but they are huge pain to harvest and take care of.
Each limb won't produce anything the first year, they do so on the second year, and only produce once... after they produce you have to cut the produced limbs off to make room for new ones.
They do taste way better than store bought though.
As a side note, I absolutely cannot stand Gooseberries. I'd rather starve.
Huckleberry milkshakes are the best, with fresh huckleberries and vanilla ice cream! <3 I used to live in N. Idaho and we had a Huckleberry Festival every year I loved it.
@zeitgeist057 Yeah had the milkshakes too, they are excellent.
No huckleberries here in California, and even if I see huckleberry ice cream offered in a grocery store I don't bother because it's not the same as a real fresh huckleberry shake.
Firstly I must confess into never, ever hearing or seeing Boysenberries, I really must try and keep a lookout for them.
Strawberries are definitely my favourite by a long way, but I do like all the remaining ones as well.
Usually they serve boysenberry syrup as an alternative to maple syrup at breakfast diners
You need to go to an IHOP, theyβre they serve boysenberry syrup in that 4 syrup thing they have on the table, along with strawberry, maple, blueberry. There youβll find the boysenberry syrup.
yeah possibly
@CrazyGirl2
Having just Googled "IHOP" I see this is definitely an all American Restaurant business, which I'm sure we don't have here in the UK.
you don't have any places there that sell waffles, pancakes, or french toast? anything you can pour syrup on?
@Still-alive
There's probably dozens of them in the bigger Cities... London, Manchester, Liverpool etc. but for us more country type folk they're non existent.
However, next time I'm doing our major shopping I shall definitely seek, find and bye. π€
Ahhh, okay! Well that explains you not knowing boysenberries! And if you were asking me about American v. English, yes, while I am a dual national, (British & American) I was raised for the first 6 years in England, before we moved to the states. But yes, I consider myself an American who is 1/2 English. Thanks for asking. And if you ever get a chance to visit the US, you have GOT to try the International House of Pancakes (IHOP), youβll love it.. and youβll get to try βtraditional British pancakesβ that youβve never, EVER heard of! Itβs hilarious! But if you ARE ever there and you order the French crepes, plain, with a half lemon on the side, you can actually make your OWN English pancakes w/ sugar and lemon juice!
@CrazyGirl2
Thank you so very much indeed for all this very exciting and informative information, it's hugely appreciated. x
I hope you don't mind that I've printed this off for future reference. x
I love raspberries.
Point of interest, although all of these names contain the word berry the only ones are actually berries are blueberries and cranberries the others are aggregate fruits and not actually berries, bananas are berries though.
cranberries are the best, I literally can drink cranberry juice for months and still love it. Cranberry saunce is delicious.
I love almost all of them!
Raspberries and strawberries are my favorite though.
I also love blackberries and boysenberries.
My grandma used to grow them in her garden, I grew up eating them very often.
My favourite berry is strawberries 🍓 😋
I love to eat strawberries. The taste of this is amazing like heavenly bliss... lol 😅
I've never heard of boysenberries before. I would say it's strawberry.
Black Raspberries are number 1, but they have a short span. Red Raspberries are second best.
Teaberries, strawberries, mulberries, grapes, then blueberries
I love strawberries, followed by blackberries and that's pretty much it tho
Fresh strawberries from my garden. I have different sorts, best one is Fragaria vesca (wild strawberry), this sort's yield is low but the taste is sensationally good
It's like the smaller ones have a more concentrated goodness
I really love Cranberries. I used to eat them at school.
Raspberries for sure. I also love strawberries, although they're not berries.
Phrased this badly. Meant to say they're both not berries, as well as blackberries and boysenberries.
Strawberries are the only good ones. The rest are gay
I love them all except cranberries
