Glenfiddich given I'm doing the date run for the brand but I do like Islay bottlings to pair with cigars and of course making smokey cokeys

Yet another Whiskey fan. I could never get into Whiskey personally. Not to my tongue. More into Gin :) But yeah Glen is solid.

Ooo bourbon. I've only tried Scotch. All were disgusting and hard to drink. Do you think I'll like this?

WT 101 should be worked up to... slowly. Rather than bourbon, you should try a Tennessee whiskey like Jack Daniels, which is mild and smooth. If you get a taste for Jack, consider moving up to bourbon; something like Makers Mark, which is also mild and smooth. From there you can expand into what are called the high proof bourbons, those which are 100 proof or above.

I'm guessing that you were either drinking low cost Scotch, or Scotch which was heavily peated and smokey. I don't like those types either.

Nah. I tried Johnny Walker Black, JD, Monkey Shoulder and Glenfiddich 15 year. All... disgusting. I prefer Spiced Rum and Coke. I really love my Gin though.

Glenfiddich 15 year is one of my favorites, but tastes vary.

Bombay Saphire and tonic, with a lime wedge and well chilled, is my afternoon drink of choice here in Florida.

Bombay? That's a crappy gin my guy. If you want something in a similar pricepoint, Try Beefeater Gin either as a plain Gin and tonic, or add honey and orange peel for bees knees. Really good. If you want top of the line, go for Botanist Gin.
