Personally for me I prefer both. With hot cocoa I like to add marshmallows, whip cream, and sometimes either cinnamon or chocolate chips.
Egg nog I don't add alcohol but I do add cinnamon.
I mean I love hot coco when it’s cold out and it’s night time and I want to chill with something sweet! But I would prefer egg nog any day of the week all day. In fact during Christmas when McDonald’s brake out their eggnog shakes and all the comfy shops brake out their eggnog lates I always get the eggnog stuff.
Mix them together. :)
I buy Swiss Miss DARK chocolate for my hot cocoa. I also make my own using whole milk and Nestle's Quick.

Egg nog because it’s only available one time of year but full of cholesterol but tastes Soooooo good! Hot chocolate I can have anytime but still delicious. I love Swiss miss dark chocolate hot chocolate. Good for your heart. 👍🙂
Egg nog for me but it always had alcohol in it. I wonder if I put enough alcohol in hot cocoa that it might be the one. Like 50% vodka.

Both and neither. Because we all have had a good cup of hot chocolate. Maybe after a day out in the snow that is just amazing. And we've all had that watery cup of piss poor excuse for coco that someone had the nerve to call coco.🤣 And while I like the taste of egg nogg I can never quite get over the thought that I'm DRINKING EGGS. Not to mention have you ever read how many calories are in egg nogg? DON'T if you want to enjoy it.
I love eggnog because of its milky texture, other than it being sweet. I like hot chocolate whether it's frozen or hot. If it's hot, I like putting peppermint candy canes in it.
