Do you like toasting cakes?

The cake in your photo is what we Americans would call bread, as in date bread, banana bread, pumpkin bread, cranberry bread, nut bread, etc.
They are made in bread pans or loaf pans like this:

Toasting slices of THAT kind of cake is delicious and has a fun texture. You can even spread them with butter that melts when they are warm.
What Americans refer to as cake is fluffy.

Even if it was an unfrosted, single-layer cake, it wouldn't toast well. But some cake is really good warmed up.
do the words ~cake~ and ~toast~ even mean the same in here and over there? lol
Toast is both a noun and a verb in British English
I didn't even know that "toasting" cakes was a thing, so I'm not sure if I "like" it since I've never tried it.
I toast bread and then put Nutella and whipped cream over it, if that counts.
Yes, I’ve done this, and my husband thought I was weird. The same guy who would grill pudding if he could.

Not sure. My mom burnt her coffee cake a bit today though. I think it still might taste good though (smells lovely).
I must admit that I've never toasted a cake (gateau) ... sounds interesting though. Maybe I'll try it.
It's a long time ago since I toasted anything. In the past occasionally slices of plain bread.
Yes, I toast cake and also like to toast cake donuts.
I've never toasted a cake in but I did toast a watermelon slice.
Only with a flamethrower.
