I usually eat it out of a bowl. But sometimes I'll eat it out of the pail when we buy small containers of ice cream (since usually that's what they're for). Bigger container I don't put the spoon back in if I've licked it. Unless it's an ice cream nobody else would ever eat except me (don't eat my fluffernutter in this case, you've been warned).

A bowl, not that I have a parasite or anything, I would just be a hypocrite if I didn’t and it is as a whole disrespectful. If my brother did that (which he probably does because he’s a lazy duck respectfully), then the spoon he puts into his mouth and back in the “pail” would catalyze the spread of a wide range of diseases completely unknown to science. You could catch E. coli if you touch him before his showers before bedtime. Plus, they always fill them up. Cake cones and sugar cones only do that if they're soft served ice cream. Waffle cones can be filled up whether soft served or hard served ice cream.

Out of a bowl. Washing a bowl afterward isn't that hard to do. I'm not that lazy. lol Even being single I still eat it out of a bowl. I also wouldn't offer ice cream to people I care about and be all like, "Here, have some ice cream my saliva has been all over repeatedly." lol My friends and family wouldn't want that at a buffet and I'm sure they don't want it at my home either.
