Is the science of it Organic Chemistry?
Something I want to study, don't know where to start. Like... an apple tree will produce apples. Plant a raspberry bush in the same soil and air... it produces raspberries. How are they producing such distinct fruits?

Plants have a genetic code like all organisms. You plant a seed and it follows that code to make a new apple tree. Just like how you never see a dog giving birth to a cat.
how is a genetic code mapping into production of such a different fruit... which follows similar patterns, but very different? It's somehow converting chemicals into very different stuff...
There are a lot of different nutrients in the soil. It is mostly nitrogen. I have a compost pile that I maintain and work a couple of wheelbarrows full of compost onto my garden in the fall. It is nature's recycling plan
