Mountain Dew hasn't tasted like Mountain Dew since around 1970. It was fabulous back in the 1960s when it was made from real fruit juice. It even had fruit pulp in it. Marvelous.

Today's Mountain Dew tastes like a high school chemistry experiment to me in comparison to the real thing.

Dr. Pepper is as great as it has ever been. I have one open right now.

I like Baja Blast sugar free (actually better than the sugar one for taste), and Moutain Dew Throwback. But Doctor Pepper is just so much better as a stand alone drink, since it kicks me in the face with every sip. Though I generally don' drink soda much, and when I buy it (outside of going to a restaurant with friends) I like getting really strong Ginger Beer or small run local stuff.
