Energy drink. They come in sugar free, if you like sweet, this is your go-to. If you like bitter, then choose the coffee. Energy drinks also contain heaps of vitamins as well, which coffee lacks.

I also like that energy drinks make it easy to measure the exact amount of caffeine and adjust. A Bang! drink has 300mg, so I can pour half for 150mg, 1/3 for 100mg, &c. Coffee has no such measurement, it can depend how strong it is brewed by various factors such as amount of bean, heat of water, time of brewing, &c. Those vary so greatly and there isn't an easy label to just know.
I think it also depends on the individual and how they react to different sources of caffeine. I have used coffee, matcha green tea, matcha powder, caffeinated drink drops (like water flavoring drops), energy drinks, and caffeinated gummies. The various sources act differently. Similar to the way getting drunk off of wine is different than champagne, tequila, whiskey, beer, &c. They feel differently, and the only way for an individual to know is to try them and observe the differences themselves.
I also recommend the drink drops, an even easier way of measuring your dosage.
The best thing to make your heart race instantly that shocks your senses better than any caffeine (without the crash associated with caffeine), is what's used in Hong Kong-an once cold shower.
Ice cold shower I mean.
This choice is easy for me to make, as I hate energy drinks and they are quite bad for you but I love cold brew coffee over lots of ice (and yes, coffee in large amounts is also bad for you but not nearly as bad as energy drinks).
Thanks for the MHO!
I live on Starbucks for late night studying sessions only because my campus have a Starbucks on the campus grounds and it conveniently happens to be located next to my dorm building.

I neither like coffee or energy drinks.
Instead, I'd take a cup of hot chocolate or a glass of chocolate milkshake and, of course, water.
Energy drinks. I used to chug Monster energy on the daily at work at my old job but they only made me feel worse later in the day because of the crash
Energy drinks are much better than coffee drinks for long shifts.

First of all try to not pull all nighters because it has unfavorable effects long term anyway back to your questions... energy drinks can make you really stay up all night so I'd say those work "better"
Energy drink has so much added sugar
A black cold coffee sounds best
sugar free energy drinks have 0 sugar. So if you like it sweet (I do), black coffee is not the best choice, but sugar free energy
Well I get you but how are they "sweet" without sugar or some sort of artificial sweetners?
They do have either artificial or sugar-free natural sweeteners like surcralose or xylitol, respectively.
Cool
I prefer the taste of cold brew coffee plus it has a lot of caffeine
I hate energy drinks... cold brew coffee is another matter.
My experiences of all-nighters were energy drunk fueled
