When you say slaughtering do you mean for food? If so yes, having food to eat and harvesting them In a way that meets the demand (hunger etc) is a good thing. But doing it just because is not. We've been given dominion over the animals and such but we're not to misuse that

I dont really pay attention to any rights group. doesn't mean im for or against it. It just doesn't cross my mind. I eat cattle and chicken so i guess i’m technically not for their rights I don't know

As far as I know, all whales are protected species and technically there is no whaling industry, but that only goes so far because poachers still exist for black market whale products.

In many countries, deer populations are kept down through hunting permits during certain seasons. Otherwise, they will simply starve in the winter and/or wreak havoc on crops in the fall and spring. Either way, deer will die in the winter from starvation if the herd grows too large in any northern location.

The food industry is another story. If you're not a vegetarian or vegan, you can argue that you don't support animal rights. Or, you can argue the other side.

I saw a video last night of these couple kids peacefully riding bikes on a road through the woods when a tiger started chasing after them from out of nowhere and nearly caught up with them!

However, yeah, animals DO have rights! We're all living beings and we should all have the same rights. I treat them about the same as anyone else. When deer show up in the yard, I won't chase them off or hurt them. I'll just say hi and leave them alone unless I have apples to feed them. And, at least once a day I get a couple bunnies on the porch begging for bread so, I give each of them half a slice.
About 15 years ago, there were hundreds of ladybugs on the back of the house! It was yellowish and the Sun was shining on it so, they were attracted to that. But, some would get on the back porch roof and wander over to the downspout and fall in down to a bucket that caught the rain water. They don't swim very well so, I'd scoop them, up out of the water and let then dry out their wings on my hands so they could fly away.

I don't like industrial farming and inhuman ways in which people keep chickens. But I don't think animal slaughter for food consumption is wrong.

By the way, like that other guy said, if herbivores are not slaughtered they will cause harm too.
My own farm animals start to fight when they grow above a certain number so I have to slaughter them for the herds own survival. The buffalos 🐃 start to starve and or fight head to head killing one in the competition. So it is a waste to not slaughter them for food.
