look how many people are addicted to it, and how much they are willing to pay and wait in line for it at starbucks and similar places.
It's silly, but very important to them.
I am for sure
@Fireguy17 I love the way good coffee tastes but that said your logic makes complete sense lol
@Friendlybro79 ya people just have different tastes.
What one person likes, another may not.

Yes, caffeine belongs to group of stimulants together with cocaine and methamphetamine with much lesser addiction potential. Caffeine withdrawal doesn't goes beyond headaches and being down for few days.
That kind of depends on how much you were taking. I used to use caffeine supplements that make Red Bull look like water. Take it with Ephedrine when you've got flu and it's an amphetamine. Take it like that for a few days and you'll have withdrawal symptoms like any other addiction.
Whatever. No more so than sugar or chocolate. Even many non-caffeinated teas contain compounds that could be considered mild drugs.
Technically yes but practically no. To me a drug is something that temporarily alters your mind and coffee is only about as powerful as a cold shower.
caffiene is addictive. Try going cold turkey if you drink more than a couple caffinated beverages a day every day for a few months.
Some say coffee doesn't wake you up, it just returns you to your normal caffeinated high.
Yes. Caffeine, which is present in coffee, is considered a psychoactive substance and a mild stimulant drug. It belongs to the class of compounds known as xanthines, and it has stimulant effects on the central nervous system. When consumed, caffeine can enhance alertness, reduce fatigue, and improve concentration.
While caffeine is legal and widely consumed, it does have some potential side effects, and excessive consumption can lead to negative health effects such as insomnia, jitteriness, increased heart rate, and dependency. The classification of caffeine as a drug is due to its impact on the nervous system and its ability to alter mood and behavior. However, it's important to note that caffeine is generally regarded as safe when consumed in moderate amounts by most people.
Sugar, alcohol, and coffee are normalized in society but are all very much drugs.
I love coffee. Not to function but just to keep my mouth lathered up. People say they cannot sleep if they drink coffee, not me. Others say they get moody with out their Joe, again not me. I wouldn’t really call it a drug but it does make a lot of people happy.
If caffeine were discovered today it would be a restricted substance because of the addictive nature of the stimulant. I've become addicted to it several times and had full on withdrawal symptoms by stopping ingestion of it. It's extremely unpleasant.
I solve this by not drinking coke - my primary caffeine fix - and limiting black tea (secondary) severely.
I don't like coffee, but the caffeine is 100%
Nope. Once Huberman said that no one is going to rob or kill others for coffee. It's not that addictive.
Nobody robs or kill others for alcohol either lol
It happens. In Thailand, those junkies are hopeless.
Not really, the caffeine in it is natural and it’s only when it’s been taken out separately that it could be considered a drug just like cocaine from the coca plant. I saw a tv show called Sliders that was a about parallel universes and showed a world where caffeine was illegal just like alcohol was in prohibition times
I mean, I've been wanting to wean myself off of coffee for the past couple years and all of my attempts have failed. So, perhaps. 😂
Why though? It's the one vice I have that is enjoyable and not killing my liver like bourbon lol
@coachTanthony and coffee has antioxidants!
Absolutely. Look…. I love weed. LOVE IT. Makes my world a much better place to live in.
But I’m MORE than able to start my day without it, or even just not have any altogether…how many coffee-heads would tell you that?😂
Caffeine is a drug, and there is caffeine in most coffee. Just about any chemical compound might be classified as a drug, the real question is how beneficial, or harmless, is it.
I couldn't have raised my son without it. I'd make a pot as soon as I got home from work because he was my second job. I couldn't have stayed awake without it. ☕
It's got the caffeine and that's a drug. Even decaffeinated coffee still has a tiny bit of caffeine in it.
Sort of. A very mild drug but you do have headaches and withdrawal if you stop drinking coffee because your body is hooked on caffeine.
Well it technically is, but I don't think it is strong enough to actually have any effect on me. It can't even keep me awake if I am tired lol.
Not a Fan of Coffee But I Do Take a Jettie Alert Daily for Years... Gives you a Coffee High. lolxxoo
Yes, unless it is decaf. Start the day right. 2 mugs of strong Americano!
It's addicting. Not sure if it's a drug or not tho
not really
not as bad as alcohol, or smoking... not from the addictive point of view
It is loaded with caffeine which is a stimulant. It is a drug.
Caffeine is definitely a habit you grow but I wouldn't say it's a drug
Even though it’s full of caffeine I wouldn’t consider it a drug as I only have one a day
Caffeine is literally classified as a drug. I can't argue with that.
Caffiene is a drug. Coffee is simply a means of delivering it to the bloodstream. A delicious means.
It is a drug. Just culturally normalised. The same with alcohol.
Coffee is my crack 😵💫😁
Yep mine as well.
No. Drugs have the ability to get you fucked up. Coffee barely keeps you awake.
Coffee itself isn't but the caffeine in it is classified as a stimulant drug.
The CAFFIENE is coffee is a drug. It's a powerful drug. Don't believe me? Drink four cups of coffee every day for a couple of months then go cold turkey on caffiene!
Many people don't realize they are addicted to caffiene.
Coffee contains caffeine, which is a stimulant drug
Yes & I was addicted to caffeine. I am in rehab now & am weening myself way back now.
I consider coffee as my morning bestie & alarm 🥲
A necessity for everyday survival.
The socially accepted one.
Caffeine is technically.
Yes, I think caffeine is a drug.
yep is can be.
no, but caffeine is.
Sort of, the caffeine in coffee.
Yes but consider food a drug and Gasoline a drug.
No, it does not change my psychological sense
caffeine is a drug so yes
If I have a headache, it is a drug for me.
No I don't consider it a drug
Caffeine is
