If you had to pick only one... Do you prefer soup or salad before the main course?

That's a tough call. Depends on the soups and salads available. If they have a small caesar salad, I love caesar salad so much so I'd go with that, say, 90% of the time. If they don't have caesar salad though, I'm going with soup, say, 90% of the time. Unless they only have soups I don't like very much (corn chowder, e. g., which was always a bit sweet for my taste), in which case I might go with the salad around 50% of the time.

Also if they don't have small salads, having a huge salad and a main course on top is too much for me. So then I might go with a soup instead if all the salads are large, unless the soups are also large in which case I'll skip both. 😅
