Have you ever given a homeless person food?

Yes, many times. I've also allowed them a space to park in a campground when I was host to keep them off the road until they were sober. I've begged them to stay sometimes, they were so high or drunk. I've talked with them, listened to them, and hugged them. I've cleaned up their bathroom messes.
Here's the deal with homeless people: there is a way to work with them. I've never had an issue with a homeless person, because I have always treated them with respect. We don't know why they are where they are at and all the reasons. Usually life has beaten them up so badly that they gave up trying. I have dealt with many on a regular basis for years, and when I tell them the rules, they honor them because they know me.
Things happen. It could be any one of us, under the right circumstances.
Amen to all that 🙏
Great, humble question! I’ve done a few years of community service in my early 20s serving refreshments to homeless families. I also created my own care packages for the increase of homeless population during the pandemic. I still offer to give my own food away after I leave a restaurant with left over or to go food whenever I see homeless individuals, or I see they’re hungry. I’ve bought blankets for them during this past Winter when I saw one freezing out and asked for warmth. Etc. There’s always more we can do for them that they may need. I also like to refer them as our friendly neighbors instead of “homeless” since they’re just like us but who needs a little extra support.
Social workers FTW 💪🏼
@verified awww thank you and for the quick MHO!☺️
@Maybe_Maybe_not shhh… 🫢🤫😊 Ty~
Food, money, cigarettes, phone calls. That being said, the best offering I have ever made is my time and my consideration, even for 5mn. It's not me saying it, it's me hearing the satisfaction of someone in front of me.
Food is not rare in the streets, consideration is EXTREMELY rare.
You’re a beautiful human being!
Yep. More than once. One homeless lady even refused the food I offered her and said she wasn't homeless (she had mental issues). I still help them when I can.
So here I am on Girls Ask Guys, sharing bits about my love for flavors and answering life’s quirky questions. Funny enough, given my passion for food, I've crossed paths with situations like this quite a bit. Absolutely, I've handed out food to homeless folks before, and it's become kind of my thing. I remember one time after dining at this amazing Japanese place, I had some leftovers (rare for me, I know 🍣). Saw a guy who looked like he could use a good meal, so I handed it to him. The smile on his face? Priceless. I guess it’s all about sharing the love for food, right? Sharing is caring, especially when it comes to good eats.

Yeah I gave a homeless guy some of my groceries when I was coming out of the store. He wasn't begging or anything like that. It was cold out and I figured he was probably hungry
Why is there a picture of a guy on a skateboard?
I usually order 2 of whatever takeout I'm getting so there are leftovers at home for me or whoever might want them, sometimes I'll give the second order to a homeless person if I see one.
Yes, I have when I've had the opportunity, but it depends on the situation. I always try to help when I can, whether it's food, money, or just a kind gesture.
I could care less about the homeless. It's not my job to make sure their eating right. Or a place to live. 🚫I won't even give them money. 🚫
I am Heartless when it comes to homeless people. 💯🚫
Yes, I have. I find it to be a rather kind gesture.
No. Once, I offered to take a homeless person to a nearby McDonalds for some food, but he only wanted money. I declined, since he would probably use the money for alcohol or drugs.
Food, sports drinks, money, cooking items, inflatable mattresses, and dog food as some have dogs. The last one I just gave a $50 bill to as we were leaving a restaurant (he wasn’t begging).
I help at a place serves dinner twice a week. If I see someone out about I just give some money.
I haven't but my girlfriend has given leftovers from a restaurant to a homeless people. The reactions have been mixed.
I've provided shelter & food to some homeless people.
Givers never lack, and we rise by lifting others
once you feed one you will never get rid of him.
I don't know if he was homeless but as I was going into a fast food place one time a guy asked me for some $ for food so I bought him lunch.
Yeah. As a matter of fact I keep a bag of canned goods in my car at all times. And whenever I see a homeless person I throw it at them and try to bean them with it.
I have givejn food I bought for myself several times.
That depends on the person. If they are sober, fairly clean then yes.
I did. Hell of a sight to see a grown man cry over a gesture like that.
And money too but not to the same person. Usually one or the other…
Yes and other things too that they need!
No but I gave them money
Its funny even when I tell them "No, sorry" they are super happy just to be acknowledged since most people completely ignore them. I had people tell me "God bless you" just for the comment.
I haven’t though I would.
yes many times and favours for them
how have you not
i don't mean that in a condemning way but surprised lol
Probably 100s of times by now.
No, of course not. I believe in natural selection.
Just a few bucks here and there.
Yeah.
I never give cash. Only food or water
Of course.
My cousin has
Just money
Yes I have.
