hi, in more recent years i believe i started again on almond milk, and tbh upon finding out the environmental cost of producing it, i had to stop... i have moved onto oat milk... over twenty years ago, being a hippy type when my friend and i, went off to a disconnected small holding, we declared a months detox and i can tell you back then, a carton of rice milk was the worst... i sincerely feel like I've waited a lifetime for catch up... coconut collab have made a dairy free double cream and its the most impressive product to me... i dabbled in the making of my own, however, considering all things to produce a litre of barista style dairy free milk would cost me way more than buying the brand on offer... in my manifested future in portugal if im fortunate enough to inherit almond trees then i would make my own for sure...
I've drank a lot of nut milk. A lot, a lot but even though I always drink it, I never truly enjoy the taste overall. There are ways to make the nut milk taste a bit better or sweeter but in the end it's always going to be nut milk and it's never going to taste amazing lol. I still consume it though.
Plant milks are now far more varied than the calf milk meant for turning a 60kg animal into a 600kg one in 2 years that a lot of humans think is good for them (obesity among children anyone?)
Nowadays there's a whole bunch of other alternatives with, rice, almond, soya, potato, hemp, pean and even hazelnuts though some have an acquired taste but are less harming to the environment than the animal ones.
I couldn't vote because I make nut milk for others to enjoy, but I prefer real milk mixed with my whey powder and my casein powder.
Those that enjoy the nut milk I make seem to really enjoy it. If they spill some on their tiddies, they will scoop it up with their finger and slurp it down... so I think they really enjoy it 🤔
Nut milks can be quite diverse in flavor and texture. I've experimented with making almond milk and enjoyed the process of blending, straining, and customizing the sweetness. Your mention of boiling almonds in cow milk sounds intriguing, almost like an almond-infused dairy milk. Oat milk does have a unique taste and can be comforting if you're used to creamy porridge. Coconut milk, with its rich texture, adds a wonderful depth to curries, creating a beautiful balance of flavors.
Each type of milk offers its own unique culinary possibilities! 🥛🌰

I drink almond milk because cow milk destroys my stomach to the point of having to lock myself in the bathroom the entire day hurting like hell.
I only like and buy a specific almond-milk product though which has a very mild and acceptable taste.
Nope. I prefer the taste of dairy milk and will continuously drink that until I can't.
"Would everyone stop MILKING SHIT?"
I don't have this level of knowledge in cooking, I think
Crush nuts, boil nuts, strain nuts. Simple as that.
The process is straightforward yes, thinking about and going towards this process, not really. That's my idea
So I what I really mean is I don't have this level of curiosity in cooking
Sure, I like it, I tried Hazelnut, Almond, Coconut, Walnut, Peanut, Pecan, Macadamia and Cashew milk.
I also like grain milk (Oat, Rice, Rye, Millet, Barley); and legume milk (Soy, Lupin).
However, i'm not a vegan, i can drink regular milk too.
I really hate nut milk, they tend to have a very bad aftertaste and are never as good as regular cow milk plus they tend to be more expensive and have less calcium
When i saw the title I honestly thought you was taking about a different type of nuts entirely! 🤣
I do like nut milk, I've had almold quite a bit.
I agree with Aubrey Plaza. Wood milk is where it's at.

I can make a great one... but, don't have it myself
I drink almond milk since I’m lactose but I’ve never really tried making it.
I like nut milk but only made it in very small quantities, not even enough to make a latte,,,
I'm allergic to nuts, so anything that has them in the process of making something is something I can't have.
