My favourite is Italian, and the dish is Northern-style lasagne, Lasagne al Forno. It importantly has a tomato-light ragu and bechamel sauce.

For me, the crown is shared by Italian and Japanese cuisine 🇮🇹🇯🇵

Italian food feels like a warm hug. A perfect cacio e pepe in Rome once made me rethink how powerful three ingredients can be. I adore carbonara, Neapolitan pizza, osso buco, fresh burrata with tomatoes and a simple tiramisù.

Japanese cuisine is elegance and precision. I still remember my first omakase in Tokyo: buttery chutoro, uni over warm rice, smoky yakitori, crisp tonkatsu and a humble miso soup that tasted like comfort itself.

@KostasKouvalis real Mexican. But I don’t hate Tex-Mex, some people talk a lot a shit about it as being a watered down version but it’s pretty good too and it doesn’t have to be authentic.

"watered-down" in both the figurative and literal sense. But most Tex-Mex food is unheard of in Mexico, except in border towns. Though they have tortilla chips and taquitos. But I asked the guy at our hotel to make me a Breakfast Burrito, and he had no clue what I was talking about. I told him, just take the bacon and eggs and wrap it in a tortilla.

Have you even tried Yucatan food? Yucatan food is VERY different from stereotypical Mexican food.

Pretty much. Surprisingly, the food was actually GOOD, the portions were just a little small.
The museum is in Merida. Why do you wanna go to Cancun? Cancun is a tourist trap and kina dangerous. Go to Puerto Progresso instead, if you wanna be on the coast.

If you hadn't gotten married, we could go together. Though I've already been to the Yucatan, so maybe not. I haven't been to Campeche though. But there's only like 2 flights there, both from Mexico City.
I'd love to visit Chiapas and Veracruz, but too dangerous

@KostasKouvalis I heard a lot of bad things about Cancun but I thought it would be safer precisely because it was full of tourists. I don’t think I’ll go to Mexico anytime soon either way, maybe I’ll visit in some years if crime rates decrease, but I’d always been curious about the Yucatán peninsula and Southern Mexico/Guatemala & Belize in general.

Not at all. There have been incidents in the past, though some guy said it's safe because the resorts are owned by the cartels. Even safety aside though, there are plenty of other reasons not to visit. I already had buyers remorse for D. R. and I had depression in 7 Mile, there I would REALLY feel shitty.

Yeah. Yucatan and Campeche are safe though and Mexico City, is okay. I wanted to go to Baja to see the arch and the beautiful water, but I feel it's too expensive for what it offers.

Yeah. I wanted to go to Guatemala too, but it's dangerous and dirty. I was considering Belize too, but the safest areas to stay are impossible to get to from the airport. You have to take a taxi and or boat or another plane. And the nicest ruins are far from the resorts, so Belize is out
