Personally I would only buy fish day-fresh if I do. But I'm not big on fish.

That said, interestingly to me, salmon, tuna, lobster, caviar and also including canned versions used to be considered lower class food. Cheap and barely fit to give to your dog or cat.

Today some of those are luxuries.

My whole point is, price on food has no real relation to how good or tasty it is. Some things most people can't afford today would've had people shaking their head at your poverty if you had to eat that a few generations ago. The opposite applies to some other goods.

Those tinned fish are high quality food
The fish are wild not farmed

So I would say the price is reflective of the quality

Other food like sweets, bcandy, processed food is expensive even though it's not healthy

But I'm cutting out oil
So it's brine for me now
