why do women wear thongs in public places; like the beach, etc?

now before i start i would like to point out that i'm well aware that not all women like to wear thongs. for logical reasons of course; i dint blame them for not wanting so much of that extra attention from the desperate losers out there.

but the ones that do wear thongs at the beach etc what exactly are their reasons? do they like the attention from the desperate males out there? do they like provoking? is it a female confidence thing? do they find them more comfortable? what exactly is their reason?

You know, this is probably exclusively an issue in the US. No where else in the world would anyone even waste a thought on why women wear thongs to the beach, because it's simply no big deal to the rest of the world, only to prudish America.

I usually wear bikinis with thong-bottoms to the beach. I've worn them to beaches in Spain, Italy, and France - I didn't even stand out. I really don't see why anyone would make a big deal about it.

I wear thongs publicly since I was 19 and I liked the look and how they felt. The tan lines were a bonus but it’s a choice for men and women. It’s a bathing suit and it’s takes confidence to wear them but I tip my hat to those who do.
