It’s a matter of personal preference. They are actually really comfy, minimize tan lines and stay put when you’re moving around. Full back ones tend to ride up and give you a wedgie. Full back ones are a lot more prone to being caught by a wave and being pulled down.

I would think it is probably uncomfortable having your ass crack 'flossed", but many women seem to do it. At LAX while working there, saw a woman bend over, picking up her child and her thong was showing big as life, and I (sorry) liked the look.

The girls in my Yoga class wear things under their yoga pants but I can still see the outline of the thong, although I am sure they want to avoid the dreaded line of their underwear. Personally, before the thong was in vogue, I always like to see what 'style' of bikini the girls were wearing under tight pants... call me a pervert?

I don't know about thongs, but every one-piece bathing suit I've ever worn makes me look like I've gained ten Ibs. Oddly, I look best in scantier two-pieces, which seems counterintuitive since I'm not skinny. But I also have an annoying hip shape that can only tolerate thin straps. So while I don't wear literal skinny thong bikinis, mine are definitely on the thinner side.

I think they look the most functional and elegant. Just having little more than a string up the butt never looked all that elegant to me, like even the most beautiful women in the nude don't actually tend to look all that sexy and elegant. They look kind of vulnerable and awkward to me.

I've always thought thong underwear and bikinis look uncomfortable to wear. But I've seen a lot of opinions from women on this site saying they're not.

As for wearing them on the beach or at a pool I'm guessing they're just really comfortable with their bodies and want to show them off while still being otherwise covered in their sensitive parts.

Personal preference. No one is forced to wear them. They give nicer tan lines and similar comfort to regular thongs. Of course if you don't like them then thong bikinis aren't for you either

It is a individual choice and preference. My girlfriend and her mum love it. Both wear wear micro triangular lycra adjustable strings bikini publicly. I personally enjoyed, endorsed, and appreciate them. Both of them like showing off their beauty asset. Did not care what people says. Finally it's growing trend and fashion among female around the world.
