We'll height is associated with strength and girls myself include like taller guys. It makes us feel safe in a way. However height isn't everything. Any guy who's about 6ft or even 5'9 is pretty tall but it's not just height it's confidence. If a taller guy anywhere from 6ft to 6'6, and of course that that's tall but if he has no confidence height means nothing. One of my friends dated a guy who wasn't that, he was shorter than her. My friend is 5'10 he was about 5'5 maybe 5'4 but the amount of confidence he had was amazing. I dated a guy that was about 6'3 and I'm 5'7and in heels 5'9- 5'10 anyways he didn't have much confidence. Although he was tall and handsome, height isn't everything. Also when your kissing and the guy is super talk it's sometimes hard to kiss lol. If he's the same height though or only a few inches taller then it's alright.

I Don't care about height as i am only 5'1 and even though i wish i was a lot taller i like guys to be more on my level. So im not saying i like shortness itself but i just prefer having a guy 2-6 inches taller than me. Although if a guy were 6 foot i wouldn't mind either anythings nice.

@Ulyss they do, you can't let one comment change your perception of any obvious reality. Even many short girls don't want guys 6'0 or shorter, so tall girls definitely don't want anything to do with short guys.

How is it that less than 15% of men are 6'0 and over, yet 42% of the female responses here list their boyfriends as being 6'0 and over.
Do you guys suspect some stat frauding here? Or is it just that taller guys are almost 3x as successful with dating than guys 5'11'' and under

It could be that girls are terrible at estimating height and their BF's add a few inches when the girl asked. Or girls that are insecure are exaggerating numbers, or maybe your theory, obviously tall guys are more successful at dating but you wouldn't think it'd be that prevalent in statistics.
You are doing the math for only a small portion of overall statistics. The 42% you are getting from here, is nowhere near the margin of the entire male world population as a whole, in which the 15% is calculated from.
At 5'11", I tower over man men in my area. In fact, a man (5'8") walked up to me yesterday insisting he had to talk to me, because he found me "extremely attractive." (His words) A friend of mine, 5'3", made it clear he wants to date me. Two of my ex's were 5'3" & 5'9" tall. I am surrounded by shorter men & I live in the States. I've passed many Arabic men in our local stores who were 5'4"-5'9" tall. They froze in their tracks as I passed them, because I was so much taller than them. An overall world wide calculation for the height of men will show the lesser percentage.

i think he's 5'7 or 5'8. and i'm 5'3. he's on the shorter side, but he's not a midget or anything. he's the perfect size for me lol. im not really attracted to super tall guys.
Obviously 5'8 is much above being a midget lol, I think like 5'0 and below is considered dwarfness for guys.
I'm 5'6" and the guy I'm dating is about 5'7"-5'8." However I wear heels a lot and I'm not going to stop. He doesn't mind though, in fact he checks out my legs more when I do. ;) Height isn't an issue for me. Guys that are insecure about it might be though.

When I was a teen, I dated a guy that was 5'3" and I was 5'7". I am now 5'11 & stiil for some reason attracted to guys who are short. I just liked them. Also, i was never really used to shorter men as every man I grew up around, like brothers cousins uncles dad were all 6ft and over, so short men were just different to me, like it wasn't something I was used to. But anyway, I liked him so I got with him. Height isn't really a huge issue to girls as guys think, maybe if the guy is quite a bit shorter than her, but that's it. Anyway, you don't need to worry about height at your age either, you've got time still.

Average height is 5'10, but no statistics taken have been consistent so you could be right but it's not probable. Plus this site includes more than just Americans and the average height worldwide is like 5'9-5'9.5

Hello young sir, currently single, but have dated guys 5'7 to 6'7. I'm 5'7 and live in a heavily German area with above average height, so I wasn't discounting guys under that height... there just weren't many. I've seem guys of all heights do well with women, so don't fret, no matter your height. :)

I like how every girl here thinks their boyfriend is the height of a freaking nba player. If you really do the measuring I can almost guarantee you that most of them are 5 10 or less maybe a couple of 6 footers.

Well, men are naturally better at spatial awareness. Evolutions warrants it after all. On the other end, however, women are better at distinguishing colors.

Yeah, having a height requirement is apparently acceptable, but a weight requirement for a girlfriend is considered wrong. Double standards are bullshit.
Both are equally acceptable. Both trigger hate from some people who don't meet the requirement.
The same is true around requirements for muscles, looks, hair length, educational level, income, sexual history/openness, etc.
There are not societal campaigns surrounding "height shaming" there is not a constant pressure for females to "stop making short guys feel bad" or to "accept short guys and stop being shallow"... so they aren't truly the same.
1 can be altered (to varying extent) through various means. The other cannot be altered at all (unless you count literally bone-breaking, coordination-sacrificing surgery or malnutrition).
How do you consider these two to be even close comparable? I mean, come on, when was the last time you were in the checkout line at a grocery store and saw a magazine advertizing ways to grow taller through diet and exercise?

Ok so the one that can not be changed matters more than the one that can be, how does that logic work. Girls who want guys who don't date big girls can change to fit into that demographic, guys who don't fit into a female preference have no alternative. You argument doesn't make the claim better. It makes it worse.
Just because magazines sell the idea that most people (male and female) find attractive in both sexes, doesn't make the argument stronger. Media uses what sells shit and that is why you don't see fat guys on magazines, but you will see fat girls even though it doesn't sell as well, there is this push to force it down our throats.
I know weight requirements go both ways, but it seems the only time it becomes something to shame is when it's a guys preference. Actual any male preference is shamed. Women can set any standard and it be excepted without question. Stature, wealth, height, weight, job, race... etc.
... Also, magazines telling people how to eat and be healthier shouldn't be considered something that make fat women feel bad. Being healthy should be a goal and if you consider it offensive that society suggest you be healthy, you got problems way beyond you weight.

Yes, but lots of women love tall guys, and height is an important part of a guy's masculinity, so they tend to round up about two inches.
Most women statistically prefer taller guys, so there's that. I don't consider height apart of masculinity though, at all.
