I'm afraid he starts thinking I love him or something. should I just go up to him and say something like: "I don't have a crush on you." Or or should I make it obvious with actions? It's a tactic that works on females of all ages, I've done it myself. If you can't get them to love you, then get them to hate you, next thing you know, they hate you so much that they are always thinking about you. Then you turn that hate into love, and she's all yours (at least for a certain amount of time)

Love and hate are the same thing. Both serve the same purpose. So the moment you feel nothing towards him (indifference), that'll be when you win.
