Girls, why makes a girls think a guy is "cute"?

I am so confused about this. Why do girls think a guy is cute? I think cute is a feminine word that is suppose to be used to describe a girl or young kids of any gender. I remember one day me and my mom was watching a movie, and she said "Oh! That guy is cute". I said it to my friend (girl) and she was like "Your mom has crush on him?" I was like I don't know what to say because I think it should be word that describe a girl, same as pretty. Is it because the girls who say a guy is "cute" have crush on them or what? I know if I say a girl is cute, it does not mean I want to date her nor have crush on her.

When we say cute, we mean attractive.
At least I do.
It's just a word we use, no feminine connotation, just a word to describe a guy we find attractive! Like we can't use beautiful or pretty. We are limited on how we can describe them.
We have cute, hot, handsome, that stuff. Cute, for me, is just saying the guy is attractive

Ok, well can you tell me what makes it gay/weird for a guy to say/find another guy "cute"? I am sure all guys know whom (guys and girls) are attractive, it should not be say for us to find another guy attractive right? If attractive means cute to you.

Hmm okay that's a tricky one. A guy calling a guy cute (if he isn't gay) seems a little different, not to make it a gender thing, but if a guy simply agrees and finds another guy attractive, I'd say calling him good-looking or handsome would be better. Just because "cute" in that way is a thing for girls. I don't know but I'd say use handsome, attractive, good-looking, stuff like that

I see what you mean, I don't call another guy cute that is why it is confusing for me to hear girls randomly calling another guy cute. I usually say (His name) looks good, or good-looking, or say that he look like someone who is good-looking; most of them takes it well. For some reason I rarely hear the word "handsome", only hear a few of older people saying it. I guess the word "cute", "hot", "sexy" etc. is been overused in this era.

Yea well that's good! Nothin wrong with thinking a guy is good looking (like just actually a goodlooking person)
Yea I like handsome, guys don't expect it now but it's nice, different and old fashioned.

I use cute to describe a guy with a boyish personality. I love boyish personalities, it's too cute. They're usually cuddly, fun, nice guys.
