Girl's Behavior

Girls, why does this girl seem to look at me in class but NEVER in the hallway? Does she like me? Somedays looks occasionally others not?

I sit next to this girl in one of my classes and I have a huge crush on her. However I'm extremely shy and I think she's rather shy too. So we never talk. She used to not look at me but this semester I noticed she would be looking at me sometimes, but never smile. Somedays she'd look rather often and other days not at all. Most days it's only a couple I THINK; I sit next to her and I am so dang scared to turn and look at her for fear of being caught by her or someone else. She used to look at me when she laughed in class. But she NEVER EVER looks at me in the hallway. But it seems she would look multiple times one day and id think she likes me, but other days she'd seem totally uninterested. I've heard sometimes girls are afraid to look at guys they like. How true is this? Last week and this week till yesterday I didn't see her looking at me at all except once, but I initiated & I rarely do that. And she stopped looking at me when we laugh with the class. I'm scared bc of the 90 degree angle I have to turn to look at her. Today we were put in groups and she was in another group an had a more direct view of each other. I then noticed she looked at me several times but not constantly. What's up with this? And she has a very shy friend that will look at me and even smile unlike her, and when they walk 2together in the hallway, only the other girl looks at me. So maybe she looks at me bc her friend likes me and she really doesn't? I've heard girls will do that. Does she like me? And how often do you look at guys you like and are you afraid to sometimes? And why no hallways looks, just a blank face?
