Unaware of being handsome is attractive?

First let me say that I am not attractive.
I hear girls say all the the time how they find it attractive when guys don't know that they are attractive. Is that true?
Also is the opposite then unattractive? For example my friends are handsome and they know it very well. However girls go crazy about them.

For me it depends on the guy's overall personality. It's ok it he doesn't find himself attractive, but if he whines about his looks or constantly puts himself down, I'm turned off (the same if a girl does this). It's ok if a guy thinks he's attractive. A little self confidence is nice, but too much is bad. If he walks around thinking he's "the bomb" or saying "I'm so hot" all the time then no thanks. I like a good medium.

Knowing you're good looking is one thing, but acting like you know you are ( not you, figure of speech ) and being arrogant is another. It will only open the door so far with women ( or men if vice versa ).

Modesty is far more attractive than conceited.

Not to me. It's probably more of a turn-off because the guy is more likely to be insecure. If he's NOT insecure, then it doesn't do anything for me either way. He simply doesn't think he's attractive.

Those girls probably meant they like humble guys that aren't obsessed with their looks.

Otherwise, confidence is the one of the most attractive characteristics in a guy. Your friends are probably handsome and confident, with their looks not ever being a topic of discussion.

Definitely agree with this! What women say is attractive in a guy is different than what a guy thinks is attractive in guys.

From my observations, too many guys try to "primp" themselves too much thinking thi! Most women like a guy that is a bit gruffy and rough around the edges. ;-)

Why do u think so many women complain about guys not being "manly" enough? :-P

Being attractive is attractive regardless of whether or not the person is aware.

Super low self esteem isn't a good quality though. Or is cockiness. There's a happy medium. :)

If a guy is good looking to a woman, and he isn't a complete arrogant jerk about it, it's always a plus.
