Girls, Is it necessary to wear bra and panty at night?

The Bra:

Night, as in when I'm lounging at home, just relaxing? A bra might not be "necessary" but if I have company over relaxing with me, I don't want to tuck my shirt under my breasts in front of people because it gets a bit sweaty and uncomfortable if there is no bra. If I'm alone, I'll take it off and tuck my shirt under them, or wear a night shirt or gown and tuck them under. (Girls, you know what I'm talking about.)

If it's night as in when I go to bed, then no - senseless and constricting since I'm not seen by anyone under the covers, the breasts are falling where they may during sleep, and in order to be comfortable in order to fall asleep, the bra comes off. Plus it allows easy middle-of-the-night squeezes my husband may want to make.

The Panty:

Wearing panties are done for our comfort and protection as our vaginal excretions can become a nuisance on our groin or thigh if we don't cover up. I always wear panties during the day for this reason, but our womanly juices don't just stop after daylight hours. At night time, even when wearing pajamas, I may keep them on to simply be comfortable should their be an excretion. And by that, I don't mean I'm sitting there leaking. I mean, we may only excrete what is a drop of discharge - the same stuff that lubes you guys up when you enter us. Just enough to feel it leave the vulva and get to our skin. When we urinate, we often wipe any discharge away including the urine from our genitals to get that "dry" feeling again. The undies just keep us from feeling that discharge creep back as we are constantly producing it.

Overnight, I may take the panties off because I have my husband in bed for easier access to sex, or feel as though I am giving my genital area "air" as I am always covering it up in the daytime. But women also continue to wear them for all the reasons I mentioned. Times I go without are usually summer, after getting out of the bath and feeling clean, or if I've been feeling a little muggy down there and just want to cool off. I don't go without when I'm dressed, but may go without in pajamas. Sometimes I will go to bed nude, in only panties, or pajama bottoms with or without panties.

Now... as for our menstruation, if I know I'm due for it any day now, I'll wear panties at all times day and night (and overnight) to prevent blood stains on my clothes or skin. If I do have my period, I'll wear my panties over night when wearing feminine products. I don't want blood stains.

No, it's not. You're not supposed to wear bras at night because they constrict your chest. You're also not supposed to wear underwear at night because the heat and humidity in that contained environment can potentially lead to an increased chance of infections.

I've heard a lot that it unhealthy to wear your bra at night. It's also good to let your vagina breath every once in a while so no it is not necessary. However, wearing panties at night is smart but you don't have to do it ALL the time.
