Girls, Why did she took off her shoes and socks?

I invited my girlfriend over for the first time in my house. She wasn't wearing heels or sandals as usual, it was pretty chilly, she was wearing boots. She came and when she arrived she took off her boots and socks. I dont mind her taking his shoes off, i think its the right thing to do, but his socks? The problem is I dont like to look at feet that much.
Do any of you girls do this... I mean, is it normal?

Taking your shoes off inside is the norm where I live, I think it's disgusting when people walk around with their shoes off in their apartment or house. As for taking her socks off, maybe she just feels more comfortable walking around barefoot. If you don't like looking at feet, then don't look at her feet. Simple as that. I only take off my socks in my own home, I don't do that at other people's places unless they're wet and they need to dry first.

It's also hygienic.

I stopped doing it at someones home because clearly they weren't accustomed to that.
I just got so set in that habit from growing up that I did it automatically.

maybe her socks were damp from her boots as the day was damp... she probably didn't want to leave damp footprints on your floors? or if her socks were damp it makes you cold too if left on your feet... but the boots I get.. and or if they were shoes... it is a respect thing to do for the other persons house they enter...

Is she Asian? For us Asians it's disrespectful to wear your shoes inside the house but we usually leave our socks on. Maybe she didn't want to get her socks dirty or maybe she wanted to cool off her feet. If seeing her feet bothers you, just don't look at them.

I would take my shoes off, but not my socks. Some people feel more comfortable with not wearing socks though so I don't think what she did was weird at all. She doesn't know you're uncomfortable with feet.

I would do the same. Maybe if I didn't know you that well, I'd keep socks on. But generally I don't have this problem.

She might have felt that it was disrespectful to wear shoes/socks in your house. Some cultures are like that. That was how I was raised.
