There does not need to be any science. Guy sweat, and especially guy undies and socks smell terrible and are super gross. For the sake of brevity, it is actually a secondary sexual characteristic and you can curse testosterone for that even though there is a bit more to the story.

That's gross... my ex would always ask me to leave a pair of worn panties with him (I would only leave a pair that I most recently put on).

I would never smell a guys underwear... actually makes me gag a little thinking about it.

i like the smell of his shirts after he's worn them, the smell of the sheets after he's slept in them, but I've never gone for the underwear. I fear it will smell more like his asshole than his genitalia, and one is definitely more appealing than the other.

Men don't excrete scent hormones down there the same way women do. For women we want to be all up in your armpit because that's where your pheromones are output. We sniff a sweaty shirt, men sniff undies.
