She pretends not to notice me when we walk by?

So I'm friends with this girl. She and I always hang out so is not like we hardly know each other. The thing is, sometimes when she'd walk by me, she'd avoid eye contact, and other times she's walk by and pretend that she just noticed me and say hi. Once I saw that she totally changed her direction when we were about to walk on the same path.

Am I annoying to her? I'd think so but she is asks me to hang out with her like any friend would on other days.

Maybe because you are the kind of guy who won't just take a "Hey !". If you have to stop and talk for 30 minutes every time you see her, maybe she doesn't have the time or just don't feel like having a conversation. When you see her, just tilt your head and say hey and keep going. Maybe she won't hesitate to see you in the hall then.

Hey! I'm like this to the guy I like. Sometimes I intentionally avoid him because it seems too awkward saying hi too many times lol, other times I'm afraid I'll annoy him or make it too obv that I like him.

When you walk with your friend and you see him, do you stop and wait for him to catch up? Or do you keep walking and talking to your friend?

I walk and keep talking... Why? Sometimes when I'm on my own I slow down when I'm near him, and wait for him to catch my eye. At that moment we'll smile and say hi.

Yeah you could be annoying to her & maybe she's only asking you to hang out so you won't feel left out. So it really depends on the context of when, why, & how she asks you to hang out.

Why would you constantly invite someone to hang out if you don't want to be with that person? It seems counter-productive to me...

That's why I said it depends on the context, if its a group of friends hanging out she'll include him so he won't feel left out or if it's known she hangs out with everyone else individually but not him, to once again avoid him feeling disliked she'll hang out with him as a courtesy or to try to get to know him better to see if she even wants to be friends with him. Duh lol!
