Caught my GIRLFRIEND MESSAGING HER EX on SNAPCHAT... his name had a GOLD HEART next to it. Do I have reason to be suspicious, or am I paranoid?

When I first met my girlfriend, it was obvious she wasn't completely over her past relationship. She eventually fell very hard for me and wants to move together and get married. She definitely loves me.

I was at her place a month ago and she was on Snapchat. I was looking and her ex's name came up under "Best Friend" with a gold heart next to it. The gold heart means that she messages him the most, and that he messages her the most. Obviously, I was like "wtf" and asked her about it. She told me that she just messaged him a few times to ask him about technlogy stuff (he's a tech guy) and that he would barely reply. She said she didn't do anything wrong. She seemed very genuine about it and agreed to delete her ex as well as Snapchat. She has been very faithful.

I took her word for it when she told me this and moved on. Now though a month later, I'm getting suspicious and wondering if they are still in touch somehow. I'm wondering if she was lying that they weren't having full conversations and just asking tech questions. It usually wouldn't be a big deal, but since she wasn't over it at the beginning. To me that was kind of a breach of trust.

Am I right in being suspicious/weary? Or am I being parnaoid and insecure?

The fact she would still be connected to an ex for ANY reason, including the "Best Friend" category, shows that she lacks good judgement to begin with.

If you are fully happy with someone, why would you EVER in a million years feel the need to still stay in contact with any exes and reach out to them? There are a million people out there who are "tech people" she could have asked her questions to. The only reason to reach out to an ex, is because you still want to be tied to him/her.

It seems that you already have lost a bit of trust with her... and that's not a good foundation to build a life with someone.

Just because things are generally good with her, doesn't mean you both are right for each other.

If you are still getting suspicious, then there is a reason for that and I think you need to pay attention.

I have been in your shoes where a boyfriend wasn't fully over an ex when we first got together. It only ended in cheating and nonsense and lies on his part.

Definitely don't move in together or discuss marriage until you can fully trust someone 100%. And just based on the fact I was in my 20's not that long ago, I'd tell every guy out there to NOT even think about a serious relationship with a girl who isn't 30 or older. Many girls are still trying to figure out who they are and what they want and are not that confident in all aspects in life... whether personally or professionally. Lots of drama in our 20's for sure.

You done fucked up. I don't know shit about snap chat, but I would have told her I wanted to see the messages she sent if that's possible or not. Now all evidence is deleted. Also you can use certain aps to hide other aps on your phone to make it seem like they're not even on the phone. She could download it again.

My understanding of snap chat is you take a pic and send it and receive pics and the disappear soon after looking at them. How is that useful for getting tech advice?

They all seem genuine and convincing when confronted.
