The target audience for Playgirl is gay men. If he posed without knowing that, I'd just have a laugh at his expense.

My husband was a revue dancer for 12-13 years, so, whatevs. Literally hundreds of thousands of women have seen him in a g-string, not even counting private bookings. The boy's hot! The world needs more scenery like that, lemme tell ya.

Full nudity in print is just kinda weird, because... well, because it's just kinda weird. It takes a special kind of talent just to make that non-awkward, let alone to make it actually look good.

Dude, that just isn't how women work. I mean, I am the most visual, shallow, vain bitch in the Pacific time zone, and lemme tell you how I love the male physique (it is NOT a coincidence that I married an exotic dancer)... but, still, nope. Still can't get turned on by just looking at pictures.

PG has always been predominantly geared to gay men, for purely business reasons. That's who would actually pay money for the product.

I mean, I even grew up in Southern California, and I don't remember seeing anything like that. I remember seeing hardcore porn mags in W Hollywood, but those were hardcore porn mags. I don't remember ANY other publication in that specific genre, of relatively tasteful solo male nudes.

The first I REMEMBER seeing it was in high school, when some of the gay musical-theater dudes had it. I was pretty much "meh".

IIRC, some second party had to send it in (so that someone could sign as an adult witness that person X is indeed 18+ years old and bla bla bla... or something). She took the pictures, too. They paid something like $500, which isn't much in my opinion, but, eh, it's greater than zero.

Those two were always inveterate exhibitionists anyway, so this was hardly a surprise.

I would, but I probably wouldn't date someone who has the potential to be asked in the first place (not saying I reject physically attractive guys, but generally those guys who pose nude are glamour models/strippers/dancers, etc.), just not part of my circle. I have nothing against those people; I'd gladly befriend them, but I wouldn't consider dating them.

Ehh, I'd be uncomfortable with it on Playgirl, seeing as that's a sexualised nudity. If he really wanted to, there's no way I could stop him, but I wouldn't be happy about it. I wouldn't have a problem with it if he was asked to pose nude for an art class or something like that.
