I get that there's people who hate wearing underwear. I'm not one of them, so bear with me here.

How do women go commando without it being gross? Doesn't your vaginal discharge get all over the crotch of your pants, which can start to smell? What do you do during your period? In my experience, tampons can leak, so are you afraid it's going to soak through your pants?

Since the vag is not muffled in underwear its less "dischargey" because fresh air is able to climb through so unless your pants are pulled up all the way inside your lips, camel toe stat the discharge doesn't get onto the pants. Unless it's extremely severe that you're prectically leaking.
If the tampon is changed frequently it's fine. But usually periods is when we whip out the ole trusty underwear for security purposes because yes when I go to sleep they'll be all sorts of leakages

I don't "ooze" so that's never a problem, plus I only wear the jeans a few hours while going out. I've never had any smell or nastiness in these shorter intervals.

Undies are a must during periods, for the reason you said.

That's what I wondered! I honestly don't think many girls go commando for that reason. Second, there are times of your cycle where they might not be any discharge for a day or two. But other than that I would always wear underwear because it seems gross not too...
