Keeping details to a minimum, we're both teenagers (ignore my age on the account) and have been dating for a few weeks, and my girlfriend is quite awkward around me. Never looks at me, always short answers and so on (and on). Thing is though, she has already declared her love for me... over text. Almost all of the good relationship stuff has happened over text rather than in person, and trust me, I have tried. Her texts do not correspond with her actions. She is way more comfortable around my friends, so she almost ignores me while she chats and laughs and stuff with them. This is super annoying especially with my best friend, who has a lot more in common with her than I do (including native language, which they talk together in, leaving me mostly out. She still maintains that she loves me) . I absolutely hate this, but I do love her and I am worried. What are the reasons she would be like this? After all she has no reason to be, since she is more attractive, popular and experienced with relationships. Thanks for listening!
It sounds like she doesn't have that connection with you. I'm not a big fan of saying really important things over text because a) could be lying and b) body language is everything! It doesn't sound like love either, love takes time- it takes getting to know that person intimately in emotional ways not just physically. I feel like she is just using you for her own validation of having a backup. Like you're going to be there when she's done flirting or talking to other dudes.
