What does it mean when a girl calls you hun through a text?

So I have this friend that I know for a few years and yesterday night me and her were texting each other cause I was feeling down and she's one of the few people that i can turn to if i need someone to talk to then one of the texted she called me hun i just want to know what it means so that way i don't make it a big deal if it doesn't mean a whole lot. Y'alls opinion are appreciate and helpful. Also she has two kids and is married I'm not trying to take her away from her husband I'm not that kind of person to do that at all me and her are just really great friends that's all nothing more and nothing less.

She was probably trying to make you feel better. Hun is just a nice thing to call someone that you care about, it's meant to be a comforting thing or at least that's how I see it anyway

Using hun doesn't mean anything. She was trying to console you, and using names like that kinda make people feel better and more at ease.

its very common for people not just women. Even strange old ladies say this all the time. next thing you know she's calling you her son. lol

I actally began "HUN" when I saw a few other girls use this. xxoo
