Is there any excuse for girlfriend going out with no underwear?

Accidentally ended up in the same club last night she was on a girls night out and I was with the guys. She was a bit awkward, but then we danced with her and I put my hand up the skirt and there was nothing underneath. At first I thought it was for me then I realise she didn't know I was coming! Is that ok? Why would she not have had a thong on?

When going out clubbing for giggly fun, like most of the girls are protectively implying, girls wear panties. When they go without, it is to feel sexier, friskier and more daring. They are out on the prowl. They are hoping to find an attractive guy. They want him running his hand down and feeling nothing. They want to see that look of desire on his eyes. They want to be a tease. If they feel it is time, they are open for sex. I totally agree with @10dsw. Huge red flag to find her there unplanned with no panties on.

I think it depends... does she usually forgo them? If that's her usual attire then I wouldn't look further into it.
If she always wears them then I'd be asking questions.

I don't wear them all the time, it's not uncommon for my husband to give me a pat on the bum then smile when he realises. But because that's not uncommon he doesn't see anything wrong with it
