There’s this girl I have a crush on and we hang out a lot then out of nowhere while we were talking yesterday she said I was shy what does she mean because I’m always the one starting the conversation

Yeaa give it a shot! Thats the only way you will know her feelings... same as yours or otherwise. Yes if she doesn't reciprocate your feelings it may feel a little awkward.. but if you guys are friends anyway.. she should take it well and respect you for being honest with expressing ur feelings.
