What does it mean when two people stare at each other?

I was spending a whole day with this girl who I think likes me and I like her too. We just stared at each other from about 5 meters away and then she broke the eye contact after about 5 seconds. We were just standing and didn't say enough lol and it just happened.

Ye it wasn't the 2. or 3. and she was looking in my eyes then looked away and acted shy. We just acted like it didn't happen and started chilling together again.
