Don't know that they do. However, they also use the word "bloody" as a curse word. In an America context, it would not qualify as such.

It is simply colloquial. It just does not mean the same thing - or have the same punch - in a British context as it does in an American one. It does not mean that it is pleasant - only just not as pungent, so to speak.

British people do tend to swear quite a lot when talking, or at least more than Americans, from what I've seen. Cunt is also not considered that bad a word here. Sure, there are many who are offended by it but overall, it's just like any other swear word so we use it as much as any other.
