Why do girls always cross their legs when they're sitting down?

They sit like that because more and more females are wearing thinner and more skimpy panties that only barely cover their private girly area between their hips.

Worse, skirts are also becoming more and more skimpy, showing off lots of naked leg and sometimes the hips and more! Some empowered females wear little more than a tutu below the hips, and dont bother with panties either!

Usually so I don’t accidentally flash anyone when I’m wearing a dress or skirt, but it’s also pretty comfortable. You also take up less space when you sit that way so if someone is sitting really close you can give yourself more space

I don't usually sit like that. I used to, but then my choir teacher always told us not to because it wasn't good singing posture, so I got myself out of the habit so I wouldn't do it accidentally during choir practice. I never got back into the habit.

What I do do sometimes though is sit in a chair like the girl in the image. That's my natural sitting position, if the chair allows me to sit like that.

Part of it comes from if they're wearing short skirts/dresses so they aren't baring their lower area for the world to see. If not wearing that type of clothing, I assume it's a comfort thing.

It’s like the idea of the area. Like in the gym there is this abductor machine where you basically push your legs out and open. Many guys get defensive if they find another guy checking out their girl in it. It’s a sexual thing. Also it’s considered more “lady like” to keep that area VERY covered. It keeps unwanted gazes away I guess
