Are most pretty girls self-centered?

Looking back at my life, I've noticed that every pretty girl I've dated or made my girl. I've had to put a lot of effort to make it successful. The other girls who aren't considered as pretty, they tend to be easilier to talk to, they are more receptive to my advances and in general show respect. While all girls are pretty in their own way. When I classify pretty girls. I'm talking about girls who everyone acknowledges are pretty and never have any disparity on how good they look.

In all my relationships with them, I've always had to give up my own prerogative and give them the final decision on all issues we disagreed.

I'm guessing their beauty makes them constantly have guys interested in them, so they can afford to treat their love interests worse than other girls who may not have as much guy traffic right?

This seems to be the regular trend for dating, the norm are guys put up with unequal treatment just to have the goal of getting sex. The guy prioritizes sex because it releases all the frustrations he had to put up with.

What are your thoughts on this?

I've gone through self-centered phases, but they were brought on by feeling like I was mistreated in relationships. When you're pretty, and people tell you you're pretty and that you could have any guy you want, and then the guy you're in a relationship with takes you for granted and ignores you, it really sucks. I mean it sucks regardless of how you look. I think girls who KNOW that they are pretty get extra mad when they realize how well other guys are willing to treat them while they were wasting their time with a guy who acted like he didn't care. They might be terrified of being in that situation again, and become overly selective as a precaution.

What you said about guys putting up with unequal treatment for sex is the same for women if you replace sex for love and attention. It's scary for most people to be alone and not have security in the future, so women will put up with a lot of shit from their long term boyfriends, and not realize just how much they were putting up with until it's over.

Another thing that happens is that guys are willing to do a LOT more romantic stuff to get a woman than to keep a woman, so we can be more skeptical of romantic actions until we're solidly in a relationship and the guy still treats us with kindness. A lot of women like to be romantic but are afraid of being taken for granted again and what guys to prove themselves first since so many guys will just take you for granted once they "get" you.

However, if you're seeing a girl and doing nice things for her and she's just stringing you along, you have every right to be upset because that's exactly the sort of thing that makes women upset as well. We're all people and what we want in relationships is surprising similar, but we're also all afraid to be vulnerable first.

I read your entire post, and gained a lot of insight. This really convinced me how wrong I am about pretty girls and how I brought upon my own problems because of my fears.

I lack a lot of experience with girls because of wasting a lot of my life. This is really helping me more than you could understand. Perhaps if you didn't treat them like they are "the pretty girl" and treated her just the same as you would any other girl you dated. I. e. if you noticed she was being "less respectful" etc. say something. Seems like whatever happened is on you for the most part. It sounds like you are very passive and just expect the relationship to go a certain way because she is pretty. I have a lot of "pretty" friends and they had this issue with guys giving up in arguments and just being overly accepting of everything (being a pushover). You have to act as if you are the catch in the relationship. You gotta be the pretty girl lol. If you have no self confidence and don't take action don't be dissapointed with the result. Its got nothing to do with how pretty she is. My pretty friend is in a long term relationship with a seemingly "ugly" guy but they are happy as ever because he is extremely confident in himself and takes charge - something she complained about guys not doing before. Summary: Don't go into a relationship expecting it to go a certain way based on appearances. In this same regard don't expect individuals to be self-centred just because they are good looking,
I know plenty 'average at best' looking people with their heads firmly stationed in their asses. Be more confident in yourself. To have a lasting relationship appearance means zilch. Hope that gave you a different perspective.

Thank you for the insight. I agree with you that my lack of self confidence with girls is a problem. I have complete confidence when I am with guys but not when I am with girls. An ex-girlfriend told me recently before she dumped me that the only flaw with me is that I keep thinking I am flawed. This is only helping me realize that I'm not as flawed as I think I am. Being a ex-drug dealer and gangster really harmed me mentally. I always worry that girls who like me will leave me for a guy who has a better background. I have lots of thoughts that make me negative and I really want to get over this. The only thing I want to be for my SO is to be able to make her happy. Like if she has a bad day, I wanna be able to cheer her up. This is more valuable to me than anything in life.

It's good looking people in general. When you are good looking people tend to be more interested in doing your bidding and bending to your will. It's a type of power. It certainly can be abused.

I think that whether or not a person is more selfish may or may not be linked to this. I used to be extremely selfless, but by being pretty I attracted more people to me which meant more people were around to take advantage of my sweet personality. To cope with that I had to build walls around my heart and focus more on self preservation. That plus the whole knowing our power and our options all combine to create whatever you see.

A sheltered pretty girl, who was raised without everything handed to her and was not hurt a lot, might not be that way. A sheltered ugly girl who had everything handed to her might grow up to become a totally selfish brat.

I suppose at the end of the day it's all about how much she loves you and how much you put your foot down and keep boundaries. If I love a man enough my walls will come down and I will respect and respond to a man's needs if he respects me back. If I don't love him that much then... he's going to have to bend or our relationship will break.

Do you think it's intimidating when a man you don't know that well is willing to bend over for you? Maybe the reason why girls push the limit for this is to test the guy to see if he is really true to his word. I think girls would wonder the authenticity of his claim when he proposes himself in this manner. The logical fear is that the man is only doing this to get into their pants, and once he does. He will abandon her. I mean it must not make logical sense to the girl that a man he just met is willing to give up his own self respect just to please her right?

There are definitely guys who will act like that for the reason of sex only. There are also men who just think they are in love but it's really just a reaction to your looks. I suppose giving men a hard time helps weed out the ones who actually care. I mean, why would anyone who does not care put up with it for long? they'd move on to something easier.

it depends if the girl is humble or shy, my girlfriend is stunning yet she is of the belief that she isn't pretty even though everyone else thinks she is amazing, we have the best relationship i could have asked for and we both care about each other greatly, so no not all pretty girls are self-centered

It's ironic you mention that, my older brother who I consider to be a psychopath, his method of seducing pretty girls was to break them down. He would make them doubt their own beauty and rely on him to make them feel better about how they looked. I really hate my brother, but he has been successful and is always with pretty girls, along with amassing a lot of income.

yea, that works even if it is cruel. a girls worth is often dependent on other people views, and if you are influential enough you can easily make a girls view on herself change easily

Not my preferred method. I'm looking for a strong girl anyways. I don't want to marry a girl who is dependant on others for how they feel. Most pretty girls have this flaw. They rely on others to feel good. I guess I'm just looking for that rare girl who is pretty and also independent.

Not all girls but most of them yes! Nice girls (yes there are beautiful girls who are nice) will not be like that. Girls who are like that are Beta's. When girls realize majority of guys would even have sex with a chicken, they will realize that they are not that special and there will always be a prettier girl than them then they will calm the heck down. I think that if a woman is self centred it has no correlation to her looks. She may be more conceited for knowing she is attractive, but being selfish shouldn't have anything to do with that. I know it sounds cliche, but for me the concept of 'beauty comes from within' really rings true to me. Not in the way that most would think so, in that they refer to 'less attractive' people as having a great personality or beautiful on the inside.. but more in the respect that some of the most attractive people can become downright ugly as soon as they open their mouth. It sounds to me that unfortunately you've just have a string of bad luck with women who don't appreciate you.

I see my self pretty easy to reach and talk to, even that some times I can say it looks like some have this fear to do it, and I prefer not to approach them, as from where I grow you learn not to bother outhers

The only requirement for a successful hook up for a guy is that the girl is good looking and willing.

Some of them yes. Some of them no. Beauty is of course makes you get more attention. But it is all about character. It is about having a strong character. When you know you are more than an appearance, you know attentions are just temporary and the attention that the one you are with giving is priceless, you just care for your relationship.

I think good looking people in general may be less likely to settle because of the extra options they may have, so they could well tend to be of that mindset.

But that is just a bit of a sweeping generalisation though because I’ve known attractive males and females who have mostly been in long term relationships, so I’d say it’s more about the individual themselves.
But yes, if they’re that way inclined anyway and have the looks to exploit then that’s what you’ll see.

In general it is the social norm for women to put a ton of effort into their appearance. Attractive guys are a combination of genetics, hygiene, confidence, eating well, dressing in a nice shirt and pants, and exercise. Attractive girls are a combination of genetics, hygiene, confidence, eating well, dressing well, exercise, makeup, hair, and looking better than the girls around you. Women are judged more by their appearance than men in general, so we naturally put more effort into our appearance in order to attract guys. I think it's fair that guys make the first move since women have to do more to be attractive in comparison to other women. If we also made the first move then we'd be doing much more of the effort, which sets a precedent. Just because the effort that women do is more behind the scenes, doesn't mean that we're not making an effort.

I do agree with you that woman do make a effort. I've noticed lots of signs before but I didn't go after them. I'm sure I hurt some girls before because it would install doubt in their beauty.
