The best answer is 'tongue and cheek' but it's true...The kind of girls that can pull it off are the girls that have lots of tattoos! But...there does seem to be perhaps a type of girl that has lot's of ink. I would say that she is curvy but not really fat...she has warm features, full lips, big round eyes. Not very fit and trim but healthy none-the-less. There is a hard fact of life that anyone with tattoos must understand and that is when you get tattoos that people can readily see you automatically disqualify yourself from a whole group of potential partners BUT at the same time you automatically put yourself in to a group of people that are exclusively attracted to people who readily display their ink. I have tats on my lower forearms, not sleeves but still down by the cuff line and I know that there a plenty of women who are completely turned off by that but then again there are those women who are really turned on by the guys who have visible ink. Honestly though you look pretty hot and you need to be selective about where you put your work. (There are plenty of nasty looking chics with hella ink!) The more ink you get the more likely you are to be perceived as either a tattoo artist or a rocker chic like the other posts say. Just be choosy...sometimes saying less with ink is really saying more! :D)
I think as long as the art is good - not tribal - it can look good on about any girl. I like sleeves on girls but it does seem to send a message: "I'm a real hardass...". As long as you don't take yourself that seriously, I think you should go for it. Get some second opinions from friends about the design before you do it (friends who would tell you the truth).

My boyfriend says only trashy, punk, or artsy girls get tattoos. I don't really care for one anyway, but my boyfriend said if I ever got one, he would dump me. He also said I'm not the type of girl to get one. The only tattoo I would get is one that's sparkly. But that doesn't exist.
Oh and my boyfriend has 3 big tattoos on his forearms.
Just having that rocker, hard edge is that "kind of girl" I guess. Not everyone will find tattoos attractive. All that matters is that you do. That's why you should have gotten them in the first place. It's body art, an expression of you to see and show to others.

Megan Fox type definitely. she's the only one I've truly found attractive with tattoos. I don't really find it skanky...i just don't appreciate it as much. I like the beauty of a woman's natural skin. That is always the best. But when I see a girl with tats I automatically assume she drinks and smokes a lot, or is a slut. It's just my natural thoughts. The world kinda perceived them as that too.
But if I knew a girl that does not smoke and drink and is a good girl, but she got a tattoo...that may be hot. Maybe a butterfly on her shoulder or something.

I think one or two tattoos is OK but a sleeve on a woman or even a quarter sleave is not attractive to me. I think women are naturally the most beautiful creations in the universe so there is no need to alter yourself with a bunch of ink. That is just my opinion though.
I'm friends with a tattoo artist so almost all my friends have tats but me lol. Women that can pull off the sleeve without it looking odd are obviously the more punker or rock chicks that wear torn jeans, leather boots, and dark clothing.
I saw one girl in a grocery store who had a lot of tats. She wasn't really that pretty, but the placement of the tats made want to get her behind closed doors for a lot of heavy breathing resulting in mutual carnal knowledge.
It really depends on the girl, aura she puts off, her personality, her appearance...many factors. It's just not possible to describe it.

Unlike anon, I'd say it's to do with A. The persons attitude and B. Their body. Take Kat Von D for example, she's a rock metal chick, who is artistic which is often the kind of person who would get a tattoo, creative and people who like things with meaning. And she has the body to show the off.
I really don't like full or half sleeves on anyone, but I think a quarter sleeve could look good on you. I don't know exactly why, maybe it's just because you're good looking to begin with. I don't really like girls with a ton of tattoos though. A quarter sleeve and maybe a few other smaller ones in different places would be fine, but I don't like when people have too much on the arms or chest.
Any girl can be very attractive with tattoos if she has the right tattoos and they reflect upon her in a positive way. I have seen all sorts of girls have tattoos, but the girls that seem to pull it off the best are the ones who are kinda artsy and have a bold exciting personailty that can be portrayed through their tattoos
some one bold and dynamic can pull off tattoos really well.. for example an ex-girlfriend of mine was such a person and we both have full sleeves on both arms , and whether or not its skanky or attractive depends on the tattoo itself and where it is...but arms are fine

Tattoos are only faintly attractive if you've got a hot body to show them off in.
If you're ugly and fat, well, it's just plain nasty.
So yeah that's my opinion. A lot of people may not agree. I think a lot of people get tattoos to enhance themselves and to make up for their shortcomings appearance-wise.
Yes, usually certain girls can pull off looking good with a lot. Blondes usually look trashy with tattoos especially a lot of them. The ones that look good with a lot of them are Kat Von D, and
