I think it's because when you see a person look good in a certain pose, it frames your mind to think you would, too. More often than not, it's true. Also, Instagram models are also "normal girls", their poses are just extremely professional and filtered. They know their angles very well, and if try to copy those same ones, the chances of you understanding which pose you look good in, what side of your face looks better in pictures and other similar things is more than when you have no idea/inspiration when taking a picture.

It’s 2018, therefor there are WAY more important things in life to be concerned over other than the way a girl poses on instagram. Plus, if you’re 25-29 years old and you’re annoyed by how a girl you don’t even know poses on instagram then I’d say that’s pretty sad and pathetic.
@biancahemmings what he's saying, is that the happiness you get from it, is fabricated. It's not a good way to fulfill your needs of happiness, because it relies on the illusion of likes comments and attention of people who don't care about you, just your looks.

Well, if they are the majority (as in they aren't attention-whores (sorry for saying t like that)), then they do it because they honestly believe it makes them look better. Girls look good for themselves more than for guys, in my experience. And while I personally agree than I prefer a women not posing like an Instagram model (see not liking high heels as well), I suspect we are the minority... Instagram models have millions of followers for a reason.

Because they see how people react to them. Seeing their reactions/comments, they want to feel in the same place.
So they try to show that they can be as attractive/popular as these other girls.
To really be appreciatied, you SHOULD be YOURSELF. By being your own self you will look DIFFERENT from these models. Which makes you UNIQUE.

Yes some do it for the attention... but truelysome do it because thats what makes them see themself as beautiful... because we have mwn like you constantly judging the way we look and compare to other women. Not my fault we aren't hot as the pron models you look at.
the media is fakingly selling the idea of being famous to everoyne and girls eat up on that so easily like you wouldn't even believe it. they all want their 15 of fame, they wanna be famous and be admired by everyone and slowly women are losing their power over men.

Is a "normal girl" someone who hasn't set their job title to "self employed @Instagram model" on facespace? Will changing that job title somehow change everything through social media majicks?
Because we love photographs , we love beautiful pictures.. it doesn't mean you can act as a model only if your a model. Normal people can do that too as long as it makes them happy.
That's cause they wannabe an Instagram model.. Which any girl could be if you have a nice enough body, know how to apply makeup, and take good pic angles..

Probably because they see the attention and adoration Instagram models get and want that for themselves because they have low self-esteem, need other peoples validation, and are status chasers.
They see models using these poses and looking great so they emulate that because they want to look great. Nothing wrong with wanting to look good, even if in your eyes it looks corny and fake.
But you don't need to be them. You are good enough just the way you are, most of them are fake and only post photoshopped and editited pictures anyway. So it's not fair to compare yourself to them
