Is she losing interest or am I moving too fast?

I recently asked out a girl I have been mutually attracted to for some time. she agreed to the date and seemed nervous and kind of excited when I asked her out, but since then things have been kind of strange. she will still talk, reply, even ask a few questions, but she did not reply to a text I sent, and the level of excitement seems to have gone down in our not-in-person conversations. is she losing interest, or is she just shy and a little afraid to approach things the same way now that I've asked her out? or am I simply moving too fast, and is she sending the "slow down" signal? I try to give her space, but I also really like talking to her.

the fact that she agreed to the date says she isn't just blowing me off, I'm just really confused because our communication has felt slightly strained. do I just need to relax, keep things steady, and wait until the date? I'm not very sure what's going on.

Man, I've been there, I know how frustrating it is. I'm lucky enough to have a great girl now, but anyways.

I'm guessing she's probably on the younger side, since a lot of younger women don't know what they want yet out of a relationship. (Not always, though.) What have her past relationships been like? If she didn't reply to just one text, I don't think that's a big deal. It probably just means she has a life and was busy. Texting is a difficult means of communication anyway, since it is near impossible to figure out the subtle nuances of what someone's saying the way you can when you talk to them in person. You could have scared her off, or everything could actually be fine. It's hard to tell with texting.

My advice is to ask her exactly what it is she's looking for. You don't want to waste your time anyway on someone who won't be up front with you, so be up front with her. You probably really like this girl to put all this energy into it, so try and take it slow though.

she's actually a little older than I am, but we are both still young.

good point on the texting. in person she is pretty friendly, so I shouldn't put much stock into something that isn't a good medium for communication anyway.

Hi, Keep in mind that sometimes the way we are feeling dictates how we read other people's texts or emails. I know if I am in a crummy mood and I read an email even from my sister I'll think it is snotty when she didn't mean it that way at all.

Also, sometimes a girl can be standoffish if a guy is too aggressive or eager but that depends on the girl. Try taking it slow and see what the date brings. If you were friends before asking her out keep this in mind too. Don't change how you act just because it is a date. If she said yes then there is interest there and she liked you for you in the first place : ) Hope this helps.
