In love with a tomboy?

Hello everyone, my best girl friend is a tomboy(girl acting like a boy) and I'm in love with her. When we're out together we have lots of fun and stuff with lots of eye contact and touches, and she's always asking me out, and most of the time its just the two of us. But... when we're talking online she almost never speaks, and when I say something (life funny things) she responds with as little text as possible. What do you think of all these? And also you know any signs a tomboy might show that she likes you? Thank you very much!

I disagree with your assessment of a tomboy as "acting like a boy". There is nothing in our DNA that dictates that pink is a color girls should like or that girls should be restricted from liking sports, etc. Those are societal constructs and obviously there are men and women who aren't stereotypes and are a blend of 'masculine' and feminine' traits, which have less to do with trying to 'act like a boy' and more to do with someone just being themselves. That said, as a tomboy myself, don't let her tomboyish nature make you think she is any less of a woman or that you should treat her as anything else. I am a tomboy and I still enjoy flowers, chocolates, romantic things, and the occasional chick flick. Just because I enjoy 'masculine' pursuits too doesn't mean I don't like being treated like a lady, so in your mind, don't make too big a differentiation. Have the same expectations for her you would normally have for a girl if trying to impress her or make your move. That said, if you are getting eye contact and touches, just like any other girl, that's probably a good thing. Maybe she doesn't speak online much because she's not the kind of girl that likes to, some people are into texting or computer conversation. Judge more on the times you see her in person and what she's like then. Instead of playing guessing games and reading into it too much, go with your gut. If you think she's being flirty, flirt back. If you think she's interested, ask her out on a date. Good luck!

Certainly if she is always asking you to do things just 1 on 1 then it's a good sign she enjoys spending time with you. Whether that translates into actual interest or just friendship is hard to say.

I wouldn't worry about her lack of response in online chats, some people just don't like using them very much and give the wrong impression. Unless you know for a fact that she acts super excited when chatting with everyone else and only does this to you I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Usually the easiest thing to do about your feelings for her is to just be honest. Granted, this means if she doesn't like you that way back it may ruin your friendship. However, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Tell her straight up that you like her more than a friend and would be happy if she would go on a formal date with you.
