Do guys ignore pretty girls?

Guys… I would like advice from a guy’s point of view please. Girls and guys think VERY differently from each other and sometimes you need to “read” their minds, so answers are very much appreciated! Girls can answer too, but I really appreciate guy’s answering to hear from the opposite gender.

Okay, here it goes…..

I’m the type of girl that does not really like to flirt with guys who I don’t know like me in that way or not. I don’t like to approach or ask guys out. I don’t want to be the one talking to them first and giving them all the attention to boost their egos but I’m friendly by all means. I want to be able to understand why guys don’t approach me first. Like even on facebook, I have many facebook friends that are guys that are acquaintances in real life as well, but they never talk to me first. They don’t comment on my photos, they don’t “like” anything on it, they don’t send a message to say hi and see how I am doing…. They don’t talk to me… and when I comment on their photos or write on their walls (which is very very rarely), they don’t respond. I don’t know if I am asking for too much but what can I do to make guys want to approach me and ask me out or just to talk to me as a regular friend. I don’t know… guys are waaaaay toooo confusing (no offense, lol)! Also, do guys avoid and ignore girls that they are attracted to and are interested in? Or is it the other way around? Also, everyone says I'm gorgeous and very beautiful (not to sound cocky or anything, just stating facts)

Firstly, you're shy and not confident around guys. You don't make any effort to flirt, you don't make any effort to approach, and you don't even make any effort to TALK. Given that, why would most guys bother taking a chance on you? Even on Facebook, you don't talk to anyone. To anyone not reading this question, you would seem like you are completely uninterested in guys as a whole, much less some random guy that thinks you're pretty.

Secondly, you're upholding double standards out the ass. "I don't like to approach" and "he should man up and do it himself" already sets you up as being an entitled little princess. You complain about the game, yet you're upholding the "make him chase you" part of the game very nicely. You specifically avoid talking first to boost their egos, but that's exactly what you're expecting from them. So far, the only thing I can see that you're bringing to the table that's good is that you're pretty (or say you are, at least). If that's all you're working with, you're going to be disappointed. The guys who just approach you because of your looks are going to be the players, so don't be surprised when that happens.

On a final note, Facebook is not a substitute for actual interaction with people. If you're looking to meet guys, don't do it over Facebook.

Guys don't approach you because they fear rejection. We are not super humans, we are just as nervous as you are when talking face to face with someone we find attractive or intimidated by. For the most part we actually hate carrying the burden of being expected to initiate all the time (especially the shy ones). Thus, we rarely ever do it unless we 1. have no choice or 2. know things won't turn for the worst. I feel the same way about girls (confusing), why you only hint at things or expect us to be the first ones to initiate all the time... I'll never know.

Thank you so much for your answer! Helped a lot. But you know what? I've heard that by nature that men are hunters and go after women they want to either date or be sexual with... I mean, people (guys and girls) have told me so many times that I am very attractive and gorgeous/beautiful.. yes, guys have told me that before, so maybe my looks scares them off? Well some guys can get intimidated by looks so that's one thing...some of us do ignore girls they like, tryin to make sure the girl doesn't know in case she's not interested...as for what you can do...just keep bein nice and you'll get approached eventually it's just you know some dudes are shy and have a hard time going up to a girl...me for example...i'm more confident and less shy than I use to be but if I see really good lookin girl it's still gonna b pretty tough for me to do somethin...hope I helped some

Guys may ignore pretty girls because it APPEARS obvious that since they're pretty, they're already "taken." I've been known to blush like crazy trying to make eye contact with an attractive girl. Oh, not anymore, now that I've gotten married, but when I was single, yeah. I knew that under most circumstances an attractive woman would have nothing to do with me.

Then I met one knockout who just got out of a bad relationship (which she entered after getting out of another bad relationship) - I treated her nicely and we ended up getting married.

I was shy there too. The difference was she was more open to dealing with me after being burned so badly by others.

I can't say ALL guys, but a good percentage of us, won't approach a woman we like unless we're pretty sure we won't be rejected. Guys may walk up to girls, but they don't initiate the encounter.
