Women are materialistic in a different way.
1. Women see money/wealth as a component of attractiveness. Men, for the most part, do not.
2. Women don't care about the money because they want toys. They see it as a way for economic security.
3. Women are flashy about their high end shoes, bags, clothing as a way to demonstrate their success against thexwomen they compete against in mate selection. Something like "I got the guy who gives me all of these things; he is higher value than you are."

I don't know. If a woman is independent and has her own career going well then she probably won't be materialistic. If the class divided between a man and a woman is significant, then the chances are the one who isn't as well off might come off as materialistic.

Women bitch about the expensive things men have, but forget one important factor: We bought that. Nobody gave it to us. We worked for it. Yes, I have a nice house and two vehicles and go where I want when I want and get what I want. If you worked your way through college and graduated Magna in a great-paying career field, you could too.

Depends on what you mean by material. I think it is safe to say that women like jewels and clothes more than men on average, but men treasure cars, televisions, food, and guns more.
